Sr. Helen Prejean’s Spiritual Journey

March 19, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Sister Helen Prejean, author of Dead Man Walking and activist to end the death penalty, visits Mount St. Joseph University to tell the story behind her newest book, River of Fire. This memoir details the spiritual journey of a woman who has dedicated her life to abolishing state-sponsored executions, and upholding the rights of prison inmates. Sister Prejean’s most famous work, Dead Man Walking, tells of her experience fighting for the life of a man on death row, an experience that stirred within her the passion to serve and dedicate herself to the poor and the marginalized. In her visit to the Mount, Sister Prejean will share her story, inspire her audience, and impart the wisdom of a life radically dedicated to the dignity of the human person.

Sister Prejean’s visit falls on the feast of St. Joseph, which takes place on the 19th of March, in the University Theater at 7:00 pm.
