Rethinking Racism: Sustaining our Spirits
October 12, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Staying engaged in the struggle for black liberation – for human liberation – is not an easy task. There are moments, like earlier this month when not a single officer was held accountable for murdering Breonna Taylor, when we tire and feel as though change will never come. So how do we stay energized and take care of ourselves when doing this difficult work?
Join Rethinking Racism on the evening of Indigenous People’s Day for the panel event, “Sustaining Our Spirits.” Local activists and artists including, Bonnie Neumeier (Co-founder, Peaslee Neighborhood Center), Diane Jordan (Diane S. Jordan, Thembi Speaks, President and CEO), and Camille Jones (Co-founder/Creative Director, (CA)^2 Dance Crew), will discuss what sustains them in the work for social change. Opportunities for questions will follow the panel.
