    The Columbus Crossing Borders film Breathe Free is a moving, powerful documentary that shares the stories of refugees and the art exhibit inspired by those stories. Through the lens of filmmaker Doug Swift, we are introduced to those who fled war, violence and persecution. We witness the unease and fear surrounding U.S. border issues. And we learn how this leads to 34 artists producing a project based on forced migration.

    The Bullying & Harassment Committee of the Immigrant Dignity Coalition is proud to present Shut Down Bullying Behaviors: Empowering Targeted Kids, Tips for Parents and Schools. This free public event is for school administrators, counselors, teachers, parents, immigrant organizers, parent associations, language school teachers and community leaders interested in addressing the bullying of immigrant and refugee children. The presentation will be led by Jim Bisenius, a national expert on anti-bullying.

How would his activism be received today? His legacy as a non-violent activist for racial justice and civil rights is well-known, but there is much more to his beliefs and activism that society leaves out. Join us as we take a deep dive into these questions and explore some of MLK's lesser known works. Together, we will commit to understanding MLK's true legacy and carrying his legacy forward more than just 1 day of the year.
