  • Rethinking Racism Presents: The People vs. Columbus

    Rethinking Racism will coordinate a learning activity through an adapted role play developed by the Zinn Education Project. The experience will highlight the negative impacts of Christopher Columbus, recognize wrongs done to the native peoples of the Americas, and honor their culture instead.

    "Share the Journey; a Concert for Compassion" is a benefit concert featuring local music artists and performers invited to donate their talents and resources to raise money for The Kino Border Initiative and the League of United Latin American Citizens. Both organizations work extensively to serve and assist refugees and immigrant families.

Jose directed and produced this feature-length documentary about his journey and his experience in advocacy around immigration reform in 2014. 

  • New World: Refugees and Immigrants Photograph the Experience of a New Life in America Art Exhibit (9/4-10/31)

    The stories of refugee and immigrant families are often boxed away and invisible to many Americans. This art exhibition is an attempt to open the box and reveal that which is hidden inside. The themes and narratives, once released in the form of pictures, will help us to better understand their experience.

    Jason DeLeon will be at Miami University on October 18th with a presentation titled Land of Open Graves. The purpose of the lecture is to understand American politics and US/Mexico border enforcement through the lives and deaths of migrants.
