Week of Nonviolence – Garden of Peace
September 18, 2021 - September 26, 2021

Pace e Bene’s Campaign Nonviolence’s Action Week is September 18th to September 26th. This year, IJPC is taking action by creating a Garden of Peace. Art communicates nonviolence in a way that our words often cannot and has played a major role in resistance movements throughout history. This week, take some time to get creative and use your body and mind to help grow a nonviolent community.
To participate, please spend time creating a flower to join our garden. We encourage you to be creative and ask a friend or family member to join you in your flower creation. Some examples for flower creation include:
- downloading, printing and coloring a flower
- making a flower out of paper
- drawing or painting your own flower
- creating a flower decoration
- creating a flower out of things from nature
- pressing flowers
- taking a picture of your favorite flower
- and anything else that comes to your mind!
While creating your flower, contemplate what a world of nonviolence might look like. Include a word or phrase of what working towards peace and nonviolence means to you with your flower. You can incorporate the word/phrase into your flower design or send it in writing with your completed artwork.
Last, send your flower into IJPC via a photo or scan in an email to bekky@IJPCcincinnati.org or mail it to IJPC at 215 E. 14th Street, Cincinnati, OH, 45202.
We will showcase our garden of peace at the end of next week.
For questions, email Bekky at bekky@IJPCcincinnati.org.
