Join the NonViolence Alliance on Weds., Oct. 28 to hear from Julie Griff, Director of the New Orleans Community-Police Mediation Program (CPMP), which provides opportunities for community members and police officers to have facilitated face-to-face dialogues to be heard, build understanding and resolve conflict they’ve had in their interactions with each other. Julie’s presentation will highlight the ways in which offices like hers play an important role in working to change police-community dynamics, but also are bound by the limits of the police and government institutions where they reside. Following Julie’s presentation, participants will have time to ask her questions before breaking out into small groups for a brief discussion.
