YES Member Graduates Xavier
Youth Educating Society (YES) is a leadership program designed for both documented and undocumented immigrants and their friends and allies. They network to learn more about immigration issues and take an active role in the community. Members learn how to share their personal immigration experiences to create a unique and powerful voice advocating for comprehensive immigration reform. In May 2016, one of our YES Members (and former interns) graduated Xavier University. All of us at IJPC congratulate Ryan and are excited to see the strides he will make as he continues to be a voice for social justice.
Ryan Murphy recently graduated from Xavier University with a degree in Business Management. Ryan worked as an intern with the IJPC in
the summer of 2014 through Xavier’s Summer Service Internship, and has since continued his involvement as a board member with the YES program. As a Community Engaged Fellow at Xavier, Ryan was involved in numerous service activities including running a tutoring and mentoring program, leading alternative spring break trips, and volunteering at a local after school activity center. Ryan graduated with honors and was also awarded the Management Department’s Faculty Award. After graduation, Ryan will join Fifth Third Bank in their Operations Leadership Program here in Cincinnati.
