S. Louise Akers Fellowship
The Ignite Peace S. Louise Akers Fellowship, through Mercy Volunteer Corps, is an opportunity to spend a year in service through education and advocacy for social justice. This position was created to honor the legacy of S. Louise Akers, SC, co-founder and first director of Ignite Peace (formerly Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center), tireless advocate for social justice and integrity of creation. The fellow will inspire and engage communities to create change through analysis and action. Over 11 months, the 2024-2025 fellow will advance their expertise in peace and nonviolence practices and use the information they gain to further advocacy for systemic change in Greater Cincinnati.

Volunteer/Intern
If you have skills and time to give and would like to share them with Ignite Peace, please contact us to learn how you can get involved on a deeper level in our work. Ignite Peace offers unpaid intern opportunities to college students on a semester-by-semester basis. We also seek those with professional skills to join our Board or a committee to assist with fundraising, marketing, operations, event planning, and more.
