Community Event: Stopping It Before It Starts
March 7, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Join our friends at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center for a moderated panel discussion on how to prevent sex and labor trafficking.
Included with general admission
Anti-trafficking organizations and activists fight this oppressive system using the three “P’s:” Protection, Prosecution, and Prevention. Prevention is often referred to as “The Forgotten P” due to the fact that most nonprofits focus on protecting victims and survivors and prosecuting traffickers. Effective prevention of both sex and labor trafficking involves the participation of diverse sectors of society including health care, education, the nonprofit sector, law enforcement, and government. Representatives from these sectors will share information about their ongoing efforts to keep people from falling into the hands of traffickers. Panelists include:
- Harold D’Souza of the U.S. Advisory Council on Human Trafficking
- Rosanne Hountz, President and Co-Founder of Josephine’s Clinic
- Erikka Durdle, Regional Coalition Specialist of End Slavery Cincinnati.
