SUMMARY:The Healing Power of Forgiveness
DESCRIPTION:Join us as SueZann Bosler shares her story and example of the healing power of forgiveness. SueZann witnessed her father\, Rev. Billy Bosler be stabbed to death in their parsonage before she herself was stabbed and left for dead. Her faith and her father taught forgiveness\, and she took that to heart – advocating that her attacker not receive the death penalty. \nBring a friend to share in a powerful presentation about love\, healing\, forgiveness and justice\, as well as an update on the legal system and the death penalty in Ohio. \nWhy? The next governor takes office with an execution less than 30 days into his term\, and 23 more executions already scheduled into 2023. Join us to learn more. Our goal is to stop executions while advocating for better services for all Ohio homicide survivors rather than the false hopes offered by the promise of an unlikely execution at some point decades in the future. \nTuesday October 30th\n6:30pm to 8:00pm\nIJPC 215 E. 14th St in Cincinnati\nPlease RSVP for free tickets here \nFor more information please contact abe@deathpenaltyaction.org or 800-973-6548. \nThanks to Faith in Public Life\, Ohioans to Stop Executions\, Journey of Hope…From Violence to Healing\, Death Penalty Action\, and others….

SUMMARY:The Narrow Path: Walking Toward Peace and Nonviolence with John Dear
DESCRIPTION:Nonviolent Cincinnati will be hosting this movie and discussion night. The movie shown will be “The Narrow Path: Walking Toward Peace and Nonviolence with John Dear.” Please reserve your ticket so we have an idea of how many people to expect. \nJohn Dear is a celebrated peace activist and the author of over twenty books; he also served as a chaplain ministering to the families of those killed on September 11th at the World Trade Centre. His life story has been a journey into the radical message of the Gospel and Jesus’ instruction to love our enemies. Following in the footsteps of the great apostles of nonviolence – Mahatma Gandhi\, Martin Luther King\, Jr.\, Dorothy Day\, Thomas Merton\, Oscar Romero and Daniel and Philip Berrigan – John Dear\, who has been arrested and imprisoned over 75 times\, crisscrosses the United States and the world tirelessly preaching the message of the nonviolent Jesus. Sadly\, this film will upset and disturb many people. But the Gospel is disturbing\, if you take it seriously. Making this film changed the lives of those who made it\, and I pray it changes the lives of many who watch it. — From the Director’s note\, Gerry Straub.
