World Peace Festival is Around the Corner!

The Right of all Children to Peace is the theme for this year’s World Peace Festival. The festival program will include readings from the book, “For Every Child: the rights of the child in words and pictures,” by Caroline Castle. Organized by Citizens for Global Solutions (CGS) and the Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center (IJPC), this is the second year the local festival will mark the International Day of Peace. “It is so inspiring to gather with such a diverse group of individuals and organizations to promote peace on all levels—within ourselves, our families, our communities, our nation and our world,” said Donna Park of CGS. The festival features many activities for children, name tags in many languages, tours of the Peace Bell, dances for universal peace, and tai chi. Music will be provided by John Rodgers and the World Peace Festival Band, singer/songwriter Paulette Meier and Friends, and the North Avondale Montessori Children’s Drum and Choir Group.

This family friendly event will include music and art, celebrating the International Day of Peace. The festival takes place on Saturday, September 26th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Peace Bell in Newport, KY (click HERE for more information). Leaders from different faith traditions will gather in prayer and support of peace as a potential and continuous way of life.
